At Drinking Brooklyn, we want to provide Brooklynites with more than just another bar guide. I mean, everybody’s blogging about their favorite joints, writing reviews and “breaking” news … yadda, yadda, yadda. It’s all been done, right?

Wrong.

Drinking Brooklyn’s slogan is “bringing Brooklyn’s bars to you” for a reason.

But Rob, how is that even possible? A bar won’t fit in my studio apartment!

You’re right, it won’t. But it will fit on your computer screen.

At Drinking Brooklyn, we bring Brooklyn’s bars to you through the use of video. This lets you see (and hear) the bars in a way still photos on a blog just can’t match.

Ever wondered what’s in your favorite cocktail? We have some of Brooklyn’s best bartenders showing you the tricks of their trade. Want to know which Brooklyn bars have the best food? We’ll show you where to eat. Have a favorite Brooklyn bartender? There’s a good chance we’ve interviewed her/him.

Drinking Brooklyn is more than just video. Like a more traditional blog, we have bar news, photos, listings, links to what others are saying … you know, all the usual 4-1-1. Looking for a new Brooklyn bar to try? Everything you need to know is right here.

This is truly a grassroots site. Our budget is small (for now) and so is our staff. Basically, it’s just me. A dude living a stone’s throw (okay, more like a good tee shot) from Smith Street, a.k.a Brooklyn’s “Restaurant Row,” a fantastic strip for chill nightlife. So, if this site seems a little Cobble Hill/Boerum Hill/Carroll Gardens-centric (I refuse to call it BoCoCa, whatever that crap is, so you know I have street cred), it’s because we’re starting with what we know. Over time, when the staff expands, we will branch out to more of Brooklyn’s great nabes.
